DUNAMIS GOSPEL CHOIR is a new, vibrant, East London based independant and eccumenical christian youth ministry, accountable to its governing committee and made up of young people (ages 11-20's) with a desire to present the gospel of Jesus Christ and the Word of God in song, both to reach out to those who do not know Jesus, and to encourage and edify the church. 'Dunamis' is New Testament Greek for 'Holy Spirit Power', and is the root of the English words 'dynamic' and 'dynamite'. Acts 1v8 says 'And you shall receive (dunamis) power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, Judea, and to the ends of the earth'. It is our mission to fulfil this calling through exciting gospel music, impressive musicianship, tight harmonies, jaw-dropping soloists, but above all of that, our aim to be lead of the Holy Spirit, only ministering songs that are biblically and doctrinally sound, performing them as an act of worship, being sung and played in faith that God's Word will not return to Him void!.
2012 is our first year! We started when a group of young people that were singing together in a local school gospel choir felt the call of God to take the gospel message further afield. Our prayer is that God will give us opportunities to witness in song and in the Word, that will bare fruit that remains. We are always open to welcoming new menbers. Please get in touch.
The governing committee is the group of people to whom the choir is accountable, they meet to pray, and to offer guidance, and council to the choir, and ensure that the choir are upholding it's proceedures, protocols and policies. They also oversee the administrational and financial aspects of the choir.
